Opening Weekend!

May 25 - May 26

Need we say more?! ….. Yes, per our Commodore, Chuck:

    • Please remember to “dress your boats” when you are on your mooring by hoisting dress flags! Let’s make FJYC Cove look even more special.
    • The festivities will begin with an informal party late Friday afternoon on the deck by bringing appetizers to share with others and your own beverages to sip upon.  The BIG BBQ will be lit that night for everyone’s use and will be ready to cook on about 7:00 pm. Note, you will need to bring whatever you want to cook for your main dish and sides as there will not be a committee making appetizers or sides for Friday evening.
    • On Saturday, your Flag Officers and Staff Commodores will be the Party Crew with Bill and Mary Fedde serving as our OD’s for the 1st Porch Party of the season. Annika & Christian Cruzeta will be OD’ing the Kids Party that night, too!
    • Sunday’s festivities will begin at 10:30 am with the “Blessing of the Fleet.” Join the raft-up behind our Vice Commodore’s boat, “Knot on Call”. Jay will confirm their mooring number, but it will definitely be in the Cove. If you don’t have a dingy to raft up, come as a stowaway guest with someone else and join in the festivities. We will “ring” the bell two times for each Member of our Club who has “finished their final watch” at FJYC during this past year. The ceremony stems from a tradition of honoring a passing sailor.  We will finish up the morning with a final “Blessing of the Fleet” including a champagne toast with each other.  Sally and I will furnish the champagne.
    • Sunday will have Megan and Dan Macias along with the other Directors and Committee Chairs putting on the 2nd Porch Party of the season.

Plan on coming ashore both nights so we can all “… have more fun ashore in 2024!”
